Four gunmen fired shots piercing the image of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman hung at Narsingdi railway station master’s chamber.
Golam Mostafa, officer-in-charge of Narsingdi Sadar Police Station, said a gang of four criminals with foreign and locally-made firearms entered the Narsingdi railway station around 8:45 am and started searching station’s security guard Humayun Kabir.
Having failed to find him, they entered the
stationmaster’s chamber and fired gunshots at the image of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and fled the scene, threatening another security guard.
Station master Muhidur Rahman was in his seat when the criminals fired shots, the OC said adding,
“The criminals will be identified soon using the CCTV footage.”
