Sakil Mohammad Dipon is a noted guitarist in the country. He dreamt to be a guitarist after seeing legendary band musician late Ayub Bachchu. He completed B.Com and M.Com in Management from Jagannath University and later also completed CA under M Hafiz & Co. But he concentrated to his career as a guitarist. With this identity he was popular to many legendary singers.
According to him, to come into present position, noted Tagore artiste Sadi Mohammad had a lot of contribution. Therefore, Rezwana Chowdhury Bonnya, Papia Sarwar and Fatema-tuz-Zohra also co-operated him in this regard. Dipon is grateful to them. When he did not work professionally he played acoustic guitar with them in different programmes. From 2000 he started to play guitar professionally. He was enlisted in BTV as instrumental artist of special class.
While talking about his own position Dipon said, “It is true that Bachchu Bhai is my inspiration in guitar playing. For him I am a guitarist. With Allah’s blessing I am happy with my work and family life. Many persons ask me about my academic career but I feel proud to give my identity as a guitarist. It is love and pride.”
