GTF can ensure effective public spending for overall development of the country: Speakers

Speakers at a workshop on “Government – Tenderers Forum (GTF)” here underlined the need for proper implementation of public procurement process including e-GP for ensuring sustainable development of the country.
The Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) of the Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) under the Planning Ministry organized the workshop yesterday for collecting recommendations from field-level tenderers and different procuring entities to ensure transparency and accountability in public procurement network, the organizers said.
Secretary of the IMED, Ministry of Planning Pradip Ranjan Chakraborty addressed the workshop as chief guest while Director General of the CPTU of the IMED Mohammed Shoheler Rahman Chowdhury addressed there as special guest.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Netrakona Kazi Mohammed Abdur Rahman, the workshop was addressed, among others, by Senior Deputy Director of Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP) Khadija Bilkis and Deputy Director of the CPTU Mohammad Salah Uddin.
The chief guest Pradip Ranjan Chakraborty in his speech said, the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina continues putting it’s best and sincere efforts for properly and timely implementation of all the development programs across the country.
“For ensuring sustainable development of the country, the meetings of national executive committee of national economic council (ECNEC) are held regularly even in the Covid-19 pandemic period” he added.
A total of 30 field-level tenderers and representatives of different procuring entities participated in the workshop.
