Global Sports Federation (GSF) with the support of United Nations Office on Sports for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) will establish nine International sports universities including one in Bangladesh. The main target of the universities is to generate world-class sports manager, coach, athletes, policy makers, and physiologist.
Of the universities, GSF has finalized the sites in Anand, Gujarat in India, Uzirpur, Barisal in Bangladesh, Bloemfontein, Free State in South Africa, Corfu in Greece. The other sites will be finalized soon, said Dr. Enayet Karim, President of the GSF.
GSF conducts tournaments of different games worldwide to boost the sports. The youths of the world are the golden assets but they are derailing due to proper guidance and very limited access to involve themselves in any productive activities. GSF gives them the opportunity to engage in sports in boundary and over the boundary for bringing peace and prosperity in the society.
The worldwide health services cost is increasing due to lacking of proper body exercise and games. According to the health science experts, about 60 percent medicine cost could be cut by regular exercise and taking part in the sports. Sports now a days has become one of the main parts of building GDP. In some countries, especially the European countries have concentrated in sports for boosting their economy. South Asian countries like India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and even Nepal is marching forward in sports. Cricket, the second highest popular game, has emerged in South Asia as the prime game. Presently, five out of 12 top-ranking cricket playing nations are from South Asia. These are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Football, women cricket, cricket for blind and disabled people, kabaddi, and many Olympic recognized games are frequently played in Asia.
Games are being popularized in the cold-stricken countries; especially in European countries have built many artificial playgrounds for marching forward their sports. South and North Americans have changed their strategies to boost their sports, ignoring hundreds of hindrances. Though they are ahead in Football but the other games are popularizing day by day in the Americas.
GSF works for the promotion of sports by adopting policies, encouraging different clubs, academies and states to strengthen their stake in sports.
