The grassroots level training programme and rugby tournaments have been getting underway across the country. The programme has been named ‘Go Bangladesh Rugby Project.’ Marking this project, a press conference was held at the conference room in the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday. General Secretary of Bangladesh Rugby Union (BRU) Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of BRU Sayeed Ahmed, Senior Vice-President of First Security Islami Bank Limited Shahazada Basunia and Chairman of the Project Md Tariquzzaman Nannu were present at the conference, among others. First Security Islami Bank Limited has sponsored the project.
Mousum Ali said, ” The grassroots level training programme and rugby tournaments were held in 40 districts in June and July 2021. The training programme and tournaments are going on in 18 districts. The referees and coaches training programmes will be held in 22 districts. A total of 70 volunteer coaches have been working for the project.”
