The World Grandmother Day was observed on Friday in the city for the first time with a call to observe the day elsewhere in the world and to include the day in the United Nations.
At the same time, the organizers of the day has also urged the people to celebrate the day at national level.
The World Grandmother Day was celebrated in city’s Purana Paltan area with the initiative of ‘Owly group, a china-based commercial outlet, at Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association auditorium.
Advisor of Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association Helena Jahangir and Journalist Rafiqul Islam, among others, spoke on the occasion.
