GPBS achieves success in realising electricity connections

Gaibandha Palli Bidyut Samity (GPBS) under Rural Electrification Board achieved tremendous success in realizing outstanding bills, fresh electricity connection and reducing system loss last six months of 2014-15 fiscal.
GPBS was established in 2000, since then the amount of outstanding bills was Taka 11,23,23,894. Of them, the samity collected Taka 4,34,72,847 last six month of the fiscal, said assistant general manager Nazir Ahmed.
Till December, 2014 a total of 85,026 clients were given electricity connections but due to pragmatic initiative 17,158 consumers were brought under rural power network of the samity during the period from January to June, 2015, said deputy general manager engineer Khusheed Alam.
Earlier, the system loss of the samity was 14.41 percent till December 2014 but at present, it has stood at 13.22 percent; he said adding that necessary measures had been taken to reduce the system loss further in coming days.
Talking to BSS, GM GHM Wahedul Haque said it had been possible for the coordinated and cordial efforts of the officials and staff including the directors of the samity.
