“Grameenphone considers it a responsibility to ensure that people, especially children, get the best out of the digital technology at their disposal,” said GP Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mahmud Hossain at press conference on Thursdayat BRAC Inn, said a press release.
“Our safe internet program, which is currently in its fourth year, is targeted towards achieving this objective, and we believe spread of the Internet and its benefit among people will help in reducing inequality,” he added.
In the partnership this year, they have set an aim to reach a further 50,000 children in 250 schools around Bangladesh.
GP has so far reached 80,000 children in 500 schools across Bangladesh with the program through activations in schools and distribution of guidebooks on the safe and responsible use of internet. BRAC was also the partner of the earlier initiative.
