UNB, Dhaka :
Accusing the government of conspiring to destroy their party through repressive acts, BNP joint secretary general M Shahjahan on Sunday said all evil attempts to eliminate BNP will turn futile.
“The government’s plot to destroy BNP by unleashing repression on its leaders and activists and arresting them won’t be successful in any way,” he said in a statement.
The statement was issued protesting the arrest of four Noakhali BNP men,
including its Sadar upazila unit president Jasimuddin.
Shahjahan strongly protested and condemned the arrest of the BNP leaders and activists.
He alleged that the arrest was made as part of the government’s move to establish ‘one person’s rule’ in the country through demolishing the last sign of democracy.
The BNP joint secretary general demanded the government immediately release their detained leaders and activists.
