Govt’s initiatives increasing women participation in business

Participation of educated women in business are increasing due to implementation of various time-befitting policies and initiatives of the government under the grand leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as per a study report reveled.
The report also said backward women of the society are getting involved in business as the government is providing different business friendly initiatives and women entrepreneurs are getting special supports for receiving loans.
SME Foundation conducted the study through the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) on ‘Women Entrepreneurs in SMEs: Bangladesh Perspective 2017’.
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun attended the study unveiling function as the chief guest at the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) auditorium in the city, said a press release.
In his speech, Humayun said it is not possible to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) without women as they are half of the country’s total population. So, Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina has emphasized on effective research for increasing the participation of women in the country’s economic activities, he added.
