‘Govt would be tough if blockade not withdrawn’

Awami League Advisory Council Member Suranjit Sengupta said the government would be tough if the blockade and hartal programme of BNP-led 20-Party alliance is not withdrawn within next two days before the SSC and equivalent examinations.
“BNP must take responsibility if the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations are hampered,” he said this on Friday while speaking at a discussion of “Nouka Samarathak Gousthi (Boat Supporters Forum)” at diploma Engineers ‘Institute Auditorium in the city as the chief guest.He called upon BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to shun undemocratic and confrontational politics as no leader of the world could achieve their demands from the government unleashing terror.
The former AL minister also cautioned BNP high-ups against creating unrest and undue pressure on the government through destructive activities. “If you don’t want to lift hartal and blockade programme, the government will be bound to take tough administrative measures against you,” he warned. Joint-General Secretary of Dhaka City unit of Awami League Hazi Mohammed Selim and Harun Chowdhury of Samyabadi Dal also spoke on the occasion. Advisor of the forum Sazzad Hossain presided over the discussion.
