Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Friday said the present government is working relentlessly for ensuring rights, including education, of the physically challenged people.
“The physically challenged people aren’t burden of the country. If they can be made competent, they will be able to contribute to the country’s development,” he said while inaugurating Little Star School for persons with disabilities in Golapganj upazila.
Nahid also laid foundation stone of Livestock Development Centre and addressed a training workshop arranged for pre-primary school teachers there.
He said the prime goal of the present government is to make Bangladesh self-reliant through alleviating poverty.
The minister said Bangladesh will be turned into a middle-income country by 2021 and the government, led by Sheikh Hasina, has been working in this regard.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Golapganj Md Ashraful Alam Khan and local Awami League leaders were present.
