State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the government is working to build a startup ecosystem in the country.
“For building the ecosystem, the government is providing assistance. There is a scope to make investment of Taka 10 lakh to any startup at primary level and Taka one to five crore in the later stages,” he said.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a function to inaugurate ‘Global Women Competition Series-2019’ organised recently by ‘She loves Tech Bangladesh’ at ICT Tower in city’s Agargaon area, said a press release.
“The number of woman entrepreneurs is still very low in the world including Bangladesh, which is nine per cent only. The vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Digital Bangladesh is inclusive so that men and women, all can get the benefit,” Palak said.
The state minister further said his division is working to establish 28 hi-tech parks and incubation centers in different districts across the country in this regard.
Project director of Idea project Mujibul Haque and Investment adviser Tina F Zebin also addressed the function among others.
