Govt will be forced to hold dialogue: Moudud

BNP Standing Committee Member Moudud Ahmed on Friday said that the government would be forced to hold dialogue with political parties ahead of the next general polls.
“Ruling party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that there is no need to hold dialogue with BNP. But, I believe you will certainly feel the need of a dialogue in due time.”
The BNP leader said it while addressing a programme organised by Adarsha Nagorik Andolon at the Jatiya Press Club in the city.
Earlier on the day, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said, their party does not see any necessity to hold any dialogue with BNP over the next polls.
Reacting to AL General Secretary’s comment, Moudud Ahmed said “The AL will be forced to change its political stance about the dialogue in the face of a movement and the situation will emerge soon,” he said.
The BNP leader said that the government should release Khaleda Zia if it truly wants free and fair election.
“The current Parliament will have to be dissolved before 90 days of the election and Army will have to be deployed with magistracy power,” the BNP leader said.
Mahmudul Hasan, the President of the organisation presided over the programme while JAGPA President Professor Rehena Prodhan and Secretary Khandaker Lutfor Rahman, BNP Joint-Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and Executive Committee Member Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah, among others, gave speech.
