Staff Reporter :
Designated Reference Institute for Chemical Measurements (DRICM), the country’s first and only institute of chemical metrology, has urged the government to strengthen the institute further, as there is huge demand of the institute for chemical metrology especially for the pharmaceutical industries.
DRICM founder Dr Mala Khan on Wednesday told the reporters that all kinds of research facilities on chemical metrology are available in the institute. She said the pharmaceutical companies had to go to other countries for important bioequivalence service but now the facilities are available there. So it should be strengthened for the sake of the country, she added.
DRICM has been serving as designated laboratory of different international organisations like UN Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapon (OPCW). The CSIR of India signed a working protocol to take services from the DRICM, claimed Dr Mala Khan.
