Govt to support expansion of pvt aviation

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali on Sunday said the government would extend all support to the country’s private airlines for their proper growth considering fast rising numbers of air travellers.
Along with the robust economic advancement of Bangladesh, demand of local airlines are getting higher day by day and the government is keen to extend its support for ensuring proper expansion of private aviation sector, he said.
The state minister made the remark while holding a meeting with leaders of Aviation Operators’ Association of Bangladesh (AOAB) at his secretariat office here.
Ali laid emphasis on maintaining a healthy competition among the airlines for ensuring sustainable growth of the country’s aviation sector.
The state minister said competent and safe aviation sector is also an important component in flourishing tourism of a country.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very cordial for development of the aviation and tourism sector. “We will take all necessary steps for further development of the sector under the able leadership of the prime minister,” Ali said.
AOAB President Anjan Chowdhury and General Secretary Mofizur Rahman were present at the meeting, among others.
