Govt. to introduce e-service law for making online service interoperable

The government is going to introduce law relating to provide electronic service (e-service) to the people for making the online services interoperable.
The draft law titled “e-service Act 2016” prepared by Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division will be submitted to the cabinet today for approval, ICT Secretary Shyam Sunder Sikder told a workshop yesterday here. Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT) Project organized the workshop on “Establishment of Bangladesh National Enterprise Architecture (BNA)”.
Shyam said the new e-service law will have a provision to prepare software for e-services following standard, format, policy and guideline being introduced under BNA.
“In fact, the E-Service law will guide the government organizations to follow law while developing e-service for the people,” he said adding all services to be developed by the government ministries and organizations according to the BNEA standard and format will be interoperable. BCC Executive Director S M Ashraful Islam, LICT Project Director Md. Rezaul Karim and Deputy Project Director Tarique M Barkatullah spoke on the occasion.
Ashraf said as part of preparing a 10-year roadmap initiative has been taken to digitize the info and services of Food Directorate and ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Primarily the food procurement system of food directorate and pension giving system of ministry of Primary and Mass Education are being digitized, he said.
LICT deputy project director Tarique M Barkatullah said TOGAF 9.1 standard is the internationally recognized and many countries of the world are following the same to establish National Enterprise Architecture and ICT roadmap.
