BSS, Dhaka :Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed Thursday said the government will give necessary assistance to the growers and traders of flowers to increase flower production and export. “By cultivating flowers in modern system, it is possible to export flowers after meeting the local demand,” he said talking to a delegation of Bangladesh Flower Society (BFS) at Bangladesh Secretariat. A 10-member BFA delegation led by its President M Abdur Rahim called on the minister, said an official release. Tofail Ahmed said flowers are growing abundantly in 20 districts of the country and some 2 million people are involved with flower cultivation. Flowers are currently being exported to Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, he said, adding that, if needed, the government will give cash incentive to increase export of flowers.
