An 18-day cultural festival titled ‘Bangladesh Cultural Festival 2016’ is scheduled to be held in 64 districts across the country from January 1 to 18.
Children and artistes of different districts of the country’s Shilpakala Academies will perform at Nondan Moncho of the Academy at 4:30pm everyday during the festival.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor MP will inaugurate the festival at 4:30pm on the first day of New Year.
Noted litterateur Syed Shamsul Haque will be present as special guest at the inauguration, while Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) Liaquat Ali Lucky will chair the session. Secretary of BSA Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury will give the welcome speech.
This was announced at a press conference held at the Seminar Room of BSA on Wednesday.
Director General of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky, Secretary Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury, Director of Drama Department Sara Ara Mahmud, Director of Dance and Recitation Sohrab Uddin, Director of Fine Arts of BSA Utpal Kumar Das, among others, were present at the press conference.
