Govt to form nat’l commission on Bangabandhu murder case: Anisul

The government will form a national commission to identify those who were behind the brutal killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members on August 15 in 1975.
“It is necessary to form a high profile national commission involving with the responsible national personalities so that the real killers of this heinous murder case could be identified”, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq has said in a webinar on the thirty first ultimo in the city.
The long cherished demand of forming a national commission has already been progressed and formation of its outline also will be taken forward after normalization of the current corona virus situation, he told the online discussion.
Information and Research sub-committee of Bangladesh Awami League organized the function with its president Dr Saidur Rahman Khan in the chair.
Former Law Minister Advocate Abdul Matin Khosru, former Bangladesh Supreme Court Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury, Awami League law affairs Secretary Advocate Nazibullah Hiru and public prosecutor for Bangabandhu Murder case Advocate Mosharraf Hossen Kazal, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Anisul Huq said BNP founder Ziaur Rahman was the ‘topmost beneficiaries’ of Bangabandhu killing.
Participating in the discussion, Advocate Abdul Matin Khosru said, “We have to identify the ‘masterminds’ of the killers as the conspiracy of August 15 was not taken place in a day.” “Ziaur Rahman was the villain of the August 15 blue print”, Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik said.
