Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya on Tuesday said the government has allocated 28.10 lakh blankets and 80,000 packets of dry food for cold-stricken people across the country.
“A total of 28.10 lakh blankets will be distributed among cold-stricken people across the country,” he said, adding the Relief and Disaster Management Ministry has allocated 10.12 lakh blankets as well as 80,000 packets of dry food and Prime Minister’s Office will provide 18 lakh blankets for distressed people.
Maya said this while briefing newsmen at his ministry of Secretariat in the city, said a press release.
“A total of 20 senior officers have been sent to different districts to monitor the distribution work and inform the ministry about the necessity of more blankets,’ he said.
