‘Govt to buy rescue equipments to tackle climate change’

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md Enamur Rahman said the government is planning to buy rescue equipments worth about several 100 crores as a measure for disaster management.
“Bangladesh currently is well ahead of many countries in the area of disaster management… That’s why the country is considered a role model in
managing natural disasters,” he said this on Tuesday while exchanging views with Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders of Dhamrai upazila in Talbagh area of Savar.The state minister said a disaster management training academy will be established in Dhaka aiming to strengthen the activities of disaster management and relief ministry. Keeping in mind about the academy, the government is planning to buy the rescue equipments, he added.
