Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperative (LGRD &C) Minister Khandoker Mosharraf Hossain on Wednesday said the present government has taken a project for supplying pure water as per demand of the Dhaka city.
“The present government has taken a project on “Dhaka Environmentally Sustainable Water Supply Project (DESWSP) for supplying pure water in Dhaka city to meet the demand,” said the minister while responding to a query placed by treasury bench member M Abdul Latif of Chittagong-11 in the House.
Under the project, he said daily 50 crore litres water would be supplied in the Dhaka city after withdrawal of water from Bisnondi point of Meghna River and water treatment at Gandrabopur treatment plant located at the eastside of the Sitalakhya River.
