The BNP on Thursday accused the government of selling the country in a planned way.
“The government has shut it eyes to the India’s continus unjust activities against Bangladesh,” BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said it in a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.
The BNP leader said, the government is making Bangladesh a crippled country by sacrificing the country’s interests to please a third country to stay in power only. India is harming Bangladesh. Their planned inter
river-linking project to divert the waters of the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers will badly harm our country. It will also put our geographical existence and ecology at stake.
He said, every day one or two Bangladeshis are being killed on the international borders. But the government has been subservient to the neighbouring country.
“Despite having no suitable infrastructure, the government has given India corridor facility in the name of transit allowing it to use the Ashuganj River Port with a nominal tariff of Tk 192 only per tonne,” he said.
“The government is covertly carrying out anti-state activities by keeping people’s attention concentrated on messy situation like militant activities, crackdown on common people and extra judicial killings”, he said.
The BNP leader also alleged that the country’s sovereignty, independence, security and progress are at stake due to the government’s anti-state activities.
