‘Govt sincere to flourish education in CHT’

State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing said the government is sincere to flourish all types of education, including technical education, in the Chittagong Hill Tracts area of the country.
“Along with expanding primary, secondary and higher secondary education, the government has taken various steps to expand the technical education in the CHT region,” an official release here on Monday quoted the state minister as he saying as the chief guest while addressing a prize giving ceremony at Bandarban Collectorate School and College on Sunday.

He also said the students of the CHT districts are becoming worthy citizens of the country being self-reliant through using technical knowledge.
“Alongside the general education, there is no alternative to the sports and culture to boost physical and mental growth,” he said, adding that it plays a supportive role in building harmonious society.
With Bandarban Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dilip Kumar Banik in the chair the function addressed, among others, by Bandarban Government College Principal Sukumar Datta, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjit Kumar Ray, Sadar Upazila Chairman Abdul Quddus, CHT Regional Council Member Shafiqur Rahman and Kajal Kanti Das and Bandarban Hill District Council Member Laxmi Pad Das, the release added.
