Govt plans to provide land for setting up Japanese industry

The government is planning to provide land at Gazipur or Narayanganj for setting up industry of the Japanese investors with a view to attain a win-win situation for both the country’s economy, said the Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Thursday.
The minister said this while addressing a meeting with 27-member visiting Japanese delegations led by Yoshihiro Seki, Vice Minister Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry of Japan at his office.
Currently, 29 Japanese institutions operating in special economic zone of the country and their investment is almost $347 million.
Japan is one of the best friend of Bangladesh since the independence, said the minister adding that the government is ready to provide all out assistance for Japanese investors for setting up more industries in the country.
The minister called upon the Japanese investors to invest in the potential sectors of the country because the country has proven an ideal destination for foreign direct investment.
