Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali said the government is planning to increase allocation in the budget to make the disabled economically self-reliant.
“The present government is very much friendly with the disabled as it has been working relentlessly for their development,” he said this on Tuesday while addressing a discussion marking the World Health Day as the chief guest here.
Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad organized the discussion at its Purana Paltan auditorium with its President and Director General (DG) of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), Shah Alamgir in the chair.
Stressing the need for changing the mindset about the disabled, the minister called upon all, particularly the rich, to come forward in helping to include them in the mainstream of the society.
Firoza Bari and Chief Physiotherapist of Shishu Hospital Yasmin Ara Doly presented the keynote paper at the discussion meeting.
