Nagorik Oikyo Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna on Tuesday said the government is in problem with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia as it seemed danger to keep the leader out of jail or in jail, or her send abroad.
“If the government
keeps Khaleda Zia in jail or outside jail, or send her abroad all are equally danger for the government. So, the government is in trouble with the former Prime Minister,” he said at a discussion at the National Press Club organized by Bangladesh Jatiya Manabadhikar Parishad.
Mahmudur Rahman advised the BNP to wage tougher movement to free Khaleda Zia from jail.
BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. Abdul Moen Khan told the discussion that India should build friendship with the people of Bangladesh.
“India helped us in our liberation war. So, it is our close friend. The neighboring country should keep the friendship alive by building the bridge between peoples of the two countries. Otherwise, it will lose the friendship,” he said.
Agriculturist Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, chairman of the Parishad, presided over the programme. BNP National Executive Committee Member Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah also spoke at the discussion, among others.
