Court Correspondent :
The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court yesterday gave the government two more weeks time as the last chance for issuing gazette notification on the rules determining discipline and conduct of subordinate court judges.
Later, while talking to newsmen after attending the inaugural session of a training course for the assistant judges, Law Minister Anisul Huq on Sunday hoped that the
gazette notification for lower court judges would be issued before July 15. The Ministry of Law is now scrutinising all the relevant issues on the rules so that it cannot be questioned after the gazette notification is issued, he said.
Replying to a question, Anisul Huq said the government is working on formulating the digital security act.
A meeting will be held among the ministers and officers of Ministry of Law, Information Communication Technology (ICT) Division and Ports and Telecommunication Division and Home Ministry on July 9 when a final draft on the digital security act will be prepared, he said. Besides, the Law Minister termed criticism on the digital security act before it is formulated as “premature”.
