Govt for improving quality of edn: Speaker

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, said the present government is working relentlessly for improving quality of education to create skilled workforce in the country.
“Like male counterparts, percentage of female students has significantly increased across the country,” she said this on Wednesday after inaugurating construction of academic buildings of 28 government primary schools in a function held at Pirganj upazila parishad auditorium in Rangpur as the chief guest.

Earlier, the Speaker inaugurated a children rally and a two-day ‘Children Fair-2020’ organized by the Rangpur District Information Office by cutting ribbon at Pirganj upazila parishad premises and visited different stalls there.
Dr. Shirin said development activities are underway in various schools and colleges across her constituency Rangpur-6 comparing of Pirganj upazila for development of education.
“The development process will continue in Pirganj upazila,” she said, and thanked the organisers of the innovative Children Fair that undoubtedly demands praise to inspire the children in doing creative work.
She said the children should adopt the ideal of Bangabandhu and urged them to go ahead for materialising the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through building a prosperous Sonar Bangla.
She mentioned that the children should be creative during the Mujib Year to know the true history of Bangladesh.
“Bangabandhu had struggled throughout his life keeping his head high against injustice to establish the rights of the people – the children should have to learn from his sacrifice,” she said.
Later Dr. Shirin laid foundation stone of ‘Bangabandhu Mural’ at Pirganj Upazila Bhaban Complex premises on the occasion of the centenary birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the ‘Mujib Year-2020’.
The Speaker said celebration of the ‘Mujib Year 2020’ will inspire younger generations and help them to acquire a deeper knowledge about Bangabandhu and independence.
