Chittagong Reporters’ Unity (CRU) arranged a protest meeting on the 2nd anniversary of Sagar -Runi murder at SM Jamaluddin Auditorium in Bangabandu Bhaban on Wednesday.
Dr. Nasir uddin Mahmud ,Former General Secretary of Bangladesh Medical Association(BMA) was present as Chief Guest. The speakers urged the government to unearth the mystery behind the murders of the journalist couple.
The chief guest said that despite assurance by ministers a little progress has been made in the murder case. The speakers called upon the home minister for immediate action and unearth the motive behind the murders and to arrest the genuine killers. President of Chittagong Reporters Unity Kiron Sarma presided over the meeting.
Among others spoke at the protest meeting General Secretary , Didar Asrafi,Vice President Sajol Chy,Co-ordinator of Ekus Mela Parishad Sowkat Ali Salim,Finance Secretary Nazrul Islam, Organizing Secretary ,Aminul Hoque Shahin,Arifur Rahman Hasnain, Woman Affairs Secretary, Nasrin Sultana,Asif Iqbal, Shaik Abdullah,Giasuddin, Tipu Barua,Biswajit Paul and Borun Acharjo. Publicity Secretary Riazur Rahman Riaz acted as moderator.
