The government has extended the job contract of Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Fazle Kabir for three months.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a circular in this regard on Sunday.
As per the circular, the government approved the contractual appointment of the governor until he reaches the age limit for retirement at 65. The extended tenure will expire on July 3 this year.
Dr Fazle Kabir, a former senior secretary to the Bangladesh government, joined as the 11th governor of the central bank on March 20, 2016.
