Govt. exploring new labour market abroad

The government has completed a study to explore labour market in 50 countries including Europe, Australia and Brazil along with analysing labour market trend in Middle Eastern countries.
Based on the study report, steps would be taken to identify the prospective areas and manpower export in foreign countries, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told the House Wednesday.
In the scripted reply to a question from M A Awal (Laxmipur-1) the Prime Minister said the government has already appointed qualified and experienced consultant to explore foreign labour market.
Sheikh Hasina said now manpower is exported to 162 countries. Bangladesh embassies abroad are working for expansion of the labour market.
The Prime Minister said to ensure safety of the female workers the government has already set up Safe Home in Riyad, Jeddha, Oman, South Korea and Jordan. Gradually Safe Homes would be set up in other Bangladesh embassies abroad, she said.
Replying to a question from Golam Dastagir Gazi (Narayangonj-1) the Prime Minister said 55-kilometre highway from Jatrabari to Mawa and Pachhar to Bhanga on Dhaka-Khulna (N8) highway would be the country’s first expressway. Construction of the expressway, connecting Padma Bridge, would be completed by 2018, she said.
