Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the government is considering the interest of teachers so that it reconstituted cabinet committee over removing salary discrimination.
“The government is working to solve the demands of public and autonomous universities. But there is no logic for observing work abstention,” he told reporters before a coordination meeting of his ministry at the secretariat.
Nahid requested the teachers who are waging movement to continue classes and examinations.
The teachers of public and autonomous universities have been waging movement for about four months with the demand of separate pay structure and remove the problem of the 8th national pay scale.
After the Eid-ul Azha vacation, Bangladesh University Teachers Association Federation will announce their next programmes in its meeting on October 6.
