Staff Reporter :
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Monday said Bangladesh does not need help from any other country to ensure safety of the minorities in the country. He said that the government is capable enough to protect them.
Information minister told this at a press conference called to inform about the current situation of the country at the conference room of the Press Information Department at the secretariat.
Hasanul Haque Inu said, the government is determined to stop the secret
killings in Bangladesh. The Government and the administration are working 24 hours so that no one is spared.”
‘Operation is going on to stop secret killings. Attacks are being carried out on minority people to embarrass the government. But it will not disturb communal harmony’, he said.
Terming Khaleda Zia as guard of terrorists and militants, Inu said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is involved in the secret killings as it’s her new strategy after being defeated in fire terrorism.
He said there are more than 20,000 temples in the country where religious activities are carried out there on a regular basis. Government is secular in principle, he recalled.
The minister said the minorities are attacked along with the general people as part of the conspiracy going on in the country to embarrass the government and also to curb religious harmony in the country.
According to a report of the Press Trust of India (PTI), the religious minorities in Bangladesh want Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take up the issue of their security with Dhaka after the recent attacks on Hindus and other communities in the country.
He also said apart from Tonu murder, the culprits of all other killings were identified after investigation.
