Staff Reporter: Government on Thursday approved coronavirus-detection kit developed by Gonoshasthaya Kendra.
Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, the founder of the Gonoshasthaya Kendra, said it to journalists.
He said that the raw materials using to prepare the kit, Rapid Dot Blot, will reach Bangladesh from the UK in a week.
“We will start full-scale production within two weeks,” Dr. Zafrullah said.
Researchers from the Gonoshasthaya-RNA Biotech Limited, a sister concern of Gonoshasthaya Kendra, said that they have developed the kit which can detect coronavirus infection within 15 minutes.
Dr. Zafrullah said that the price of each kit would cost only Tk 300 to Tk 350 only.
