Public servants will enjoy a six-day vacation to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha starting from September 9 as the government on Monday announced September 11 a holiday.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard under an executive order.
Now, the Eid vacation will begin on September 9 as Friday and Saturday are weekly holidays.
However, the government employees will have to work on September 24 (Saturday, part of the weekend) for enjoying the additional holiday on September 11. Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on September 13. During the last Eid-ul-Fitr, the government allowed the public servants to enjoy a nine-day vacation declaring April 4 a holiday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued the order under her executive power.
