The authorities have dissolved the governing committee of Feni’s Sonagazi Islamia Fazil Madrasa citing the murder of student Nusrat Jahan Rafi by suspected followers of the principal accused of sexually harassing her.
Islamic Arabic University, which supervises all Fazil- and Kamil-level madrasas in Bangladesh, sent a letter scrapping the panel on Wednesday, Feni Deputy Commissioner Md Wahiduzaman said on Friday.
The process to form a new committee head by an additional district magistrate following the orders was underway, the DC said.
