Mutalib Bin Ayet ( Mati-o-Manush ) and Zuhurul Huda Liton, Gouripur Bureau Chief of the weekly Paridhi have been elected President and General Secretary respectively of Gouripur Reporters Club for the session 2015-16. The election was held at the club premises on Thursday evening.
.A total of 14 members cast their votes in the election. Motalib Bin Ayet bagged 11 votes while his nearest contestant Mohammad Mohasin Shah, a correspondent of the dailly Janatar Kanthaswar, won 3 votes in the election. Besides, Zuhurul Huda Liton’s contestant Md. Riaz Uddin took withdrawal his nomination papers before.
Hannan Kullul, a teacher and writer, Azam Jahirul Islam, an advising editor of the weekly Rajgouripur conducted the election as election commissioners respectively. Other elected office-bearers will be formed without voting next week.
Outgoing president Md. Mojibur Rahman, outgoing general secretary Arif Ahmed and a correspondent of the dailly New Nation and ex-Founder General Secretary of Gouripur Reporters Club welcomed the new committee.
