Gouripur Free Day was celebrated on Sunday with various programmes at Gouripur upazila on Sunday. On December 8, 1971 the upazila was freed from the clutches of the Pakistani occupation forces and their collaborators. Muktijuddah Sangsad Gouripur unit and many cultural groups organised a day-long programme to celebrate the day. Doa Mahfil for late freedom fighters and the martyrs was also held at Harun Park, Gouripur attended by freedom fighters, political leaders, journalists, poets and educationalists to mark the day.
