Gonoshasthaya seeks Zakat and donations for poorer patients

Staff Reporter: Renal failure patient has to survive on dialysis. Most of them have other non-communicable diseases also.
Dialysis is not the only expenditure for patients. There are also other medical expenses such as medicines, travel, special meals, etc. Irrespective of financial situation, all these patients are gradually getting poorer and poorer.
At some point, they can’t continue dialysis. Dialysis services are expensive. Current Covid situation has increased the expenditure many times. Even though Gonoshasthaya has reduced the rate of dialysis, the patients with Renal failure are not able to get regular dialysis only due to lack of money.
In these view, Gonoshasthaya seeks financial supports with Zakat and donations.
“We need your help, donate, pay zakat. All donations are income tax free,” said Dr Mohib Ullah Khondoker, Coordinator of the Gonoshasthaya Dialysis Center.
The Gonoshasthaya Dialysis Center, with the help of the generous people in the community, is trying to ensure quality service to an average of 300 kidney patients every day at a very nominal cost, he added.
The Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital has recently launched a 5-bed Isolation Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 20-bed Corona Ward, a 6-bed Isolation Ward and a 6-bed Non-Covid (ICU) for coronary emergency management in the country.
Regular plasma is produced and supplied. Diagnostic facility for Corona also available.
