A two-day Golden Jubilee celebration of Physics Department of Chittagong University (CU) began on Friday through bringing out colourful rallies on the campus.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury led the rally that started from CU main gate and later he inaugurated the programme as Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossian was absent.
Several thousands of alumni and present students of the university carrying colourful balloons, festoons and placards participated in the rally marking 50 years of its founding anniversary.
National Professor and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Asia Pacific Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury,Pro Vice-Chancellor of CU Professor Dr. Shirin Akhter, Emeritus Professor of Rajshahi University Professor Dr. Arun Kumar Basak, Professor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology Mohammad Kaikobad and Nano satellite adviser. Md. Khalilur Rahman were also present as special guest among others at program Chaired by the Vice-Chancellor the university Professor Dr. Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury.
