SA Games: Golden Day for Bangladesh Karate players

Bangladesh captured three gold medals in Karate in the 13th South Asian (SA) Games on Tuesday.
Al Amin bagged the day’s first gold medal for Bangladesh in the 60kg weight category in Kumi event beating Jafar of Pakistan by 7-3 points in the final at Nepal Karate Academy in Lalitpur of Nepal.
Earlier, Al Amin defeated Rajib Podasani of Nepal in the semi-final by 7-4 points on the same day.Humayra Akter earned the day’s second gold for Bangladesh at the 61kg weight category crushing Anu Gurong of Nepal by 5-2 points in the final . Earlier, Humayra defeated Gul Naz from Pakistan in the sami-final by 4-0 points.
It may be mentioned that Humayra clinched the first bronze medal for her country in the 61kg weight category on Monday.
Meanwhile, Marzan Akhter clinched the day’s third gold for Bangladesh at the 55kg weight category in Kumi event after defeating Kousar Sana of Pakistan by 4-3 points in the final.
Earlier, Marzan beat Manish Chowdhury of Nepal by 2-1 points in the semi-final.
It is noteworthy that Dipu Chakma clinched the first gold medal for Bangladesh at 29kg+ weight category in poomsae event of Taekwondo Competition in the 13th South Asian Games on Monday.
