Gold worth Tk 2 cr recovered from Biman flight

Airport Customs of Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport yesterday recovered forty gold bars from a flight of Bangladesh Biman lying abandoned under a passenger seat .
Customs Officials found the gold bars fastened under a seat with black tape while doing their usual rounds after passengers got off the plane yesterday morning, said Assistant Commissioner of Customs Tapan Chakraborty.
“They were doing a regular inspection after the flight from Abu Dhabi landed at the airport around 6am yesterday. The authorities could not arrest any suspect and the flight later flew to Dhaka.The bars weight almost four kilograms and was worth nearly Tk 2 crores, he said.
These gold bars found under the passenger seat No.28, airport sources said.
