Customs officials in Chittagong International Airport recovered about 5 kgs of gold consists of 48 pieces from a passenger came from Dubai on Monday evening .
These gold bars recovered from the luggage of the passenger.
The approximate cost of these gold is about Tk.2.40 cr sources said. Dubai backed passenger Miftabuddin was detained by immirgsation police allegedly involved with the smuggling of gold, sources added.
Deputy commissioner of Chittagong customs Minhazuddin told that Bangladeshi expatriate Miftahuddin arrived Chittagong Airport by a Dubai flight at about 6 pm on Monday.
After scanning of the luggage of the passenger, gold was detected and these gold were recovered from three charge light. The passenger was detained by customs for interrogation , sources said.
