Gold traders’ organization ‘Bangladesh Jewelers Association Chattogram Branch’ has warned to close gold shops if the harassment of VAT and income tax payee is not stopped. The leaders of the organization gave this warning at a press conference held at Chattogram Press Club on Sunday morning. Mrinal Kanti Dhar, President of the Jewelers Association, Chattogram , told a news conference that most of the jewelery shops were shut during the Corona period . .The VAT and income tax official have been harassing traders for VAT various times , he added. .The rule is if a trader does not pay VAT, he will be warned by giving two notices. But without doing so, they are harassing the traders. If it is not stopped immediately, we shall go on stoke throughout the country.
