Robbers looted gold ornaments and cash worth Tk 65 lakh from a jewellery shop at Biharkole Bazar in Bagatipara upazila early Saturday.
Police said a gang of armed robbers entered the jewellery shop ‘Alongkar Jewellers’ at the market in the area at about 3:30 am and held two night guards of the market-Abdul Mannan and Ahsan Ali- hostage at gunpoint.
Later, the gang looted huge gold ornaments and cash Tk1.5 lakh from the shop and fled with the booty.
Police arrested two night guards of the market for interrogation.
