GM Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh Navy became unbeaten champion in the Prime Bank 19th International Rating Chess Tournament on Thursday. Leonine Chess Club orgaised the chess competition while Bangladesh Chess Federation associated the club. The chess tournament was held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
Zia earned maximum 9 points out of 9 games. CM Sohel Chowdhury of Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club became runner-up with 7½ points.
Five players earned 7 points each, in tie-breaking system their positions are: 3rd-Md Sharif Hossain of Bangladesh Navy, 4th-IM Abu Sufian Shakil of Golden Sporting Club, 5th-SM Sharon of Bangladesh Navy, 6th- Md Sariatullah of Sonargaon Chess Club, 7th-Md. Masum Hossain of Fire Service & Civil Defense. 5 players earned 6½ points each. Their positions are: 8th- FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon of Sheikh Russel Chess Club, 9th-Shafiq Ahmed of Titas Club, 10th-FM Mohammed Abdul Malek, 11th-Md Abzid Rahman of Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club, 12th-Delwar Hossain.
The prize distribution ceremony was held on Thursday.
 Muhammad Zamir, former ambassador and former president of Bangladesh Chess Federation distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest. Kazi Mahmood Karim, Senior Executive Vice-President of Prime Bank Limited and KM Shahidullah, Vice-President of Bangladesh Chess Federation were present as special guests.
Salauddin Murad, Executive Member of Leonine Chess Club presided over the ceremony.
