A seminar at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) in the city on Tuesday called for global efforts to combat environmental degradation.
The seminar on ‘Green Living and Working’ was held at Bijoy Auditorium on BUP campus at Mirpur, said a press release.
Department of Environmental Science the university organized the event. BUP Vice-Chancellor (VC) Maj Gen Md Salahuddin Miaji addressed the seminar as chief guest.
Pro-VC Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah attended seminar as special guest while Brigadier General Akhtaruzzaman Siddique moderated it.
German environmentalist Matthias Gelber presented a keynote in the seminar.
The speakers underscored the need for global efforts to combat environmental degradation and said that Bangladesh would be the worst victim of it.
Senior officials, officers, teachers and students of the university attended the seminar, among others.
