Police recovered the dead body of an unidentified teenage girl from a launch of the Dhaka-Galachipa Route on Sunday
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Quoting local passenger, launch authority said that the girl became sick and died after vomiting. Being informed, police recovered the body from Galachipa ghat of Patuakhali district early Sunday.
Abdul Latif, Supervisor of MV Bagerhat-2, said that they saw a boy with the girl at Sadarghat of Dhaka.
But the boy got down from the launch at Fatullah ghat secretly. Around
7:30pm, the girl fell sick and she died around 2am, he said.
Galachipa Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Akhter Morshed told the news to the New Nation that the body was sent to Patuakhali Hospital morgue. The launch supervisor, ansar and clerk were taken to the Police Station for interrogation, OC added.
